Camp kaZwelonke is a traditional cultural initiative and retreat—primarily rooted in Zulu heritage—dedicated to preserving African customs, moral purity, and self-respect among young women. Centered around the practice of virginity testing (Ukuhlolwa), the camp serves as a safe cultural space where young maidens (amatshitshi) gather to celebrate chastity, gain mentorship from older women, and reinforce their sense of self-worth.
